【Technology Introduction】
 NARI aims to integrate unit processes involving biomass gasification and purification, providing a cost-effective and operationally stable gasification technology. This technology transforms carbon-containing solid fuels (including coal, biomass, and waste) into syngas through gasification, which can subsequently be utilized for power generation, fuel synthesis, or chemical production. Biomass gasification power generation technology serves as an excellent decentralized green energy supply system. Developing decentralized green energy-based power generation could significantly contribute to carbon reduction and energy security in Taiwan. To enhance the calorific value of syngas, the dual fluidized bed technology has been developed. A pilot-scale dual fluidized bed gasification furnace system has been designed and constructed, including the main equipment, solid and liquid feeding systems, generated gas purification system, air preheating and flow control system, and monitoring system. The benefit comes from the use of pure steam as the gasification agent, resulting in syngas with zero nitrogen composition and overall calorific value improvement. This technology can also be applied to the energy recovery and reuse of waste, contributing to both increasing domestic green energy supply and achieving the goals of a circular economy.

【Project Planning/Technology Application】
This technology can be utilized for the resourceful application of biomass and waste, providing green energy. To date, the efforts for technology promotion include assisting domestic environmental protection entities in evaluating the gasification treatment processes for industrial waste and the production of synthesis gas through wood gasification.
 
【Future Arrangements】
Looking ahead, an indirect gasification process with a dual fluidized bed will be developed. With focusing on carbon reduction and green energy innovation as its mission, NARI is committed to drive the development of clean energy by providing a practical and comprehensive solution for both hydrogen economy construction and carbon reduction.
